Resourcing your vision

Launched in 2009 and building on our experience of TV and broadcast technology, the Engineering Services practice specialises in providing contract implementation resources for TV, broadcasting, IPTV, VOD and OTT video projects. Farncombe staff and associates are industry specialists and fully supported by the Farncombe organisation, so can provide timely and cost-effective resource for your projects.   

Engineering Services works closely with Farncombe’s other practices and in particular, with our Programme Management Practice, to provide:

  • Engineering Resources – including interim engineering managers, technical leads and software engineers, network and broadcast engineers
  • Design – technical architects, software architects, network architects
  • Documentation – business analysts, technical authors, process analysts
  • Project Management – including programme managers, project managers, technical project managers, project office support
  • Testing – QA managers, analysts and testers.

Our people are very adaptable and used to fitting into new roles and organisations. We are often able to supply ‘bespoke’ skill sets that don’t fit neatly into usual job specifications. 

We have experience of projects covering the whole of the TV and video delivery chain from playout and back office to the consumer device. This includes head-end, terrestrial and satellite broadcast, conditional access systems, operation support systems (OSS) and billing, consumer devices such as set-top boxes (STBs), electronic programme guides (EPGs) and of course, IPTV, web and OTT video platforms.
